BEHIND THE DESIGNER

With over 20 years of design experience, we are constantly looking for new challenges and dynamic, design driven experiences.  From the initial budget proposal, through the creative process to the final finishing touches, the commitment to a quality result is one of the cornerstones of our work.  Engaging with diverse personalities within a cross functional team, our emphasis is on strong communication and the ability to negotiate through a project so that it comes in on time and on budget while maintaining the integrity of the original vision. - Debra Fenwick - Founder

As a full service design studio, Fenwick Design Group provides clients with a deeply personal and individual approach.  Working closely with architects, artisans, builders, and custom studios we create functional and design forward spaces that reflect the unique needs of each project.

Debra Fenwick has been in the design and construction industry over the last 25 years with experience spanning high end residential, retail, and commercial projects.  While her initial studies focused on science where she graduated from McGill University with a Bsc in Psychology and then pursued Masters level courses in Ecotoxicology, she was always more drawn to design and art in all of its forms.  After a period of time spent in advertising, she decided to go back to study her passion and graduated from a FIDER accredited 3 year program in Interior Design. Her lifelong enthusiasm for new experiences and travel combines with the belief that good design should respond to changes and challenges, be accessible on any budget, and be an inspirational element in every day life to incite interest, exploration, and alternative ways of thinking.  An avid photographer, she uses her frequent trips abroad to digest international flavors and document elements, textures, and color that she later incorporates into her work.  Committed to environmental issues, she promotes the use of earth friendly elements into all of her designs. She embodies a clean lined, contemporary aesthetic style, utilizing customized finishes that reflect her client's personalities or the qualities of the brand.
